Anna's 4th birthday

Anna turned 4 on June 3rd. Her birthday is a little bit of a blur as her little brother was born a couple days before her birthday.  I only got a couple of pictures but still want to post a little on our little Anna.

Anna is our very determined, independent, energetic, sweet girl.  She is more of our methodical child who works very hard at things and doesn't always rush through things.  She loves doing puzzles and will try very hard to finish them on her own which takes patience. She is an all in type of girl...no in between.  She is either the most obedient/willing child or most sinful child.  When she is happy, she is super happy, and when she is mad/upset, she is super mad/upset.  She loves doing school with me and is already sounding out 3 letter words as she learned that with Emily.  She loves going to church, singing, playing with her siblings (usually!), and playing outside.  She is a very fun girl and just enjoys life.

I only found 3 pictures of her on her birthday which I was very sad about, but I know that things were very crazy on her birthday this year.  Next year should be better!

Anna on her birthday. So pretty in her dress.

Anna helped me make her birthday cake.  She is a great helper.
Best part about helping is licking the beaters!
Anna, we love you so much and are thankful for you.  We pray that the Lord would draw you to Himself in salvation.  We are excited to see what this year brings for you!

The Birth Story of Micah James

Micah James Armstrong was born May 31st at 5:36 am. He weighed in at 8lbs 3oz and was 20 inches long.

Here is his birth story:

Memorial Day was May 30th, and we ended up going over to my parent's house for supper that evening. I was having contractions off and on that evening so I decided to go on a walk with my sister and friend.  I felt pretty uncomfortable during the walk, but the contractions were not consistent enough yet. I headed home to see what the the night would bring.  At 11:45pm, my water broke, and I was so glad that it was finally time to go to the hospital!

We got to the hospital about 12:45 (I had Tim stop at a Kwik Shop and get a Mountain Dew as he was pretty tired after being woken up to drive me to the hospital. I told him if he wanted pop to get it on the way...he took me up on that offer!).  They took me to the check in room where I waited about an hour to get taken to Labor and Delivery. I got my IV (It took 3 pricks to get it in. I was in tears as I hate IV's.)  At 2:18am , I was dilated just to a 4 and just 80 effaced. At 304 am, I got my wonderful epidural. I asked for it right away b/c I knew that I usually went pretty quick with my deliveries, and I don't like being in pain! The epidural went very smoothly for which I was thankful for. At 3:45, I was 6.5 dilated..100% effaced. I asked for more epidural meds as I was having some pain. Those meds were great and I felt no pain after that. At about 4:45, I was dilated to a 7. I was able to message back and forth with Karis for a while as I waited on Micah to arrive. Tim was sleeping so it helped me pass my time. Around 5:20, my ob dr. came in to see were I was at. He checked me, and I was at a 10. I had to laugh b/c with the epidural, I felt a little pressure, but other than that, didn't realize I was ready to push. I pushed 2x's (once for the head and the other for the body) for about maybe 30 seconds and out popped Micah James. It was so fast, and Tim said it was quite funny to see the dr. quickly rush his hands under the baby to catch it. They were surprised at how fast the baby came.

I am so thankful to the Lord for a safe delivery. Everything went so smoothly. We love Micah so much and are thankful he is part of our family!

Here are some pictures:
Everything was great as I was waiting after the epidural.  I was so tired, but I had too much excitement as I waited for Micah to arrive.

Tim was able to get a little cat nap after I received my epidural!

Just sleeping in my arms...

So sweet!

This never gets old....love my baby.

Micah was my biggest baby and was the only baby that broke at least 8 pounds!

I absolutely love this picture of my mom and grandma just enjoying Micah.

Timothy wasn't sure about his baby brother at first but would hold him sitting on Karen's lap.

Megan was excited to have another little brother.  She is a wonderful oldest sister.

This girl was also very excited.  Emily couldn't wait to hold him.

Anna also loved holding her brother very much.

I always love seeing the  kids meet their siblings for the first time.  So special.

Uncle Justin also came up to the hospital to hold Micah.

Since he was born on the day after Memorial Day, he received a Memorial day hat to go home in.
We are so thankful for our healthy baby and love him so much!
