Mother's Day

First off, I have to say Happy Mother's day to my wonderful mom who has been such a godly example to me throughout my whole life.  I can truly say that I hope I can be just like her and have her servant's heart.  It is very awesome to live so close to her where my girls can see her so often.  She is a wonderful Nana to them!!

Also, Happy Mother's Day to my wonderful mother-in-law. I am thankful for her especially in her being a godly mother in the raising of her son! (I have the best husband!) We don't get to see her near as much as we would like to, but try to enjoy the times we can.

I am also very thankful to the Lord for giving me the opportunity to be a mother!  I love my little girls.  I have learned a lot and still have a lot to learn!  Here are some pictures from my Mother's Day weekend!
Megan and I went to the Mother's Day Luncheon together!  Emily stayed with Tim as it was during her nap time, and she would not have been able to sit still and such so it was a special little date with Meggers!  Megan did not really cooperate for pictures as she kept looking away:(
A sweet kiss from Megan
Emily getting in on the action! It is funny b/c Megan loves wearing dresses, and Emily seems to be picking up on that love!

Tim gave me these beautiful flowers, and the girls made these little hand/foot prints!  So special

Megan's first year of Cubbies!

Megan was able to participate in her first year of Cubbies this year!  She loved it.  I am so thankful for the opportunity for her to be in Awana where she can learn Bible verses, hear Bible stories, and play games!  I was in Awana all the way up until 8th grade and still remember many of the Bible verses that I learned in it!  She did a great job learning her Bible verses.  Her teacher (Mrs. Charlene) was just wonderful.  She worked with Megan so patiently as she adjusted to a more structured time and learning to sit still and be quiet! (She still has a lot of learning to do in sitting still and being quiet of course!
Here are some pictures to remember her first year of Awana!

Easter 2012

Just wanted to get a quick Easter post in so we can remember this special day!  We love Easter and having the opportunity to focus on and celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.  We enjoyed this year with Megan being able to begin to understand more of Jesus death, burial, and resurrection.  We had wonderful services on Sunday beginning with Sunrise Service (which Tim went to), breakfast at church, and then a special service with some narrative and special music focusing on who Jesus is. (From the Author of Creation to the Author of Salvation!).

After church, we went to my parents' house for lunch, Easter Egg Hunt, and some pictures. We should have taken family pictures in the morning as Emily was exhausted and not feeling well (She started running fever in the afternoon that day.).  We will learn for next year hopefully!

Best family picture we could get...

Tim and I

Emily did pick up a few eggs although she was not real energetic.
                                                                  Emily- so tired
Emily- very curious what is inside the egg
Megan getting lots of eggs!

Megan loved the egg hunt!  She was able to wear a pretty dress that Karis and Dan left behind that Kayla had worn.  It was so pretty!

We actually dyed Easter eggs a couple days after Easter.  This was the first time we did this with Megan.  She really enjoyed it!

Emily on the other hand was not feeling well at all and wanted to just pull her hair out.  Poor sick girl.

Tim and Megan...we had some fun little snack (cheese crackers) to go with our special time!

Emily- a little happier being able to hold an egg!

Megan- happy with the results!

Megan's 1st Awana Grand Prix

Megan was able to be in her first Awana Grand Prix yesterday!! She was so excited to have a car to race (although she thought the race was long!). She had originally told us she was going to paint her car pink, but then in the end she chose blue b/c she said it was Emily's favorite color. (I am not sure where she came to that conclusion, but I thought it was sweet that she did it for Emily.) We had some orange paint as well at the house so she did it in orange too. She got to paint the car by herself, and Tim touched it up when she was done.

Tim and Megan with their cars. Tim made a hammer head shark car!

All the kids ready to start the race!
Megan was excited about the race and that she was able to sit by her best friend, Katy!

Megan- getting ready to race her car!!
Megan- walking quickly (well, maybe it was more than walking...they were supposed to be walking!) to the end of the track to see if her car wins!
I love this one of Megan as she is her face is so excited to watch her car.

I think Megan's favorite part was racing against her best friend. She did not win against her, but I am not even sure if she knew that!

Katy and Megan- waiting on their cars.

I am sure we will have many more years to do the Grand Prix! Tim did a good job making her car, and we all had fun!

Loving the beautiful weather!

This has been a very mild winter, and we have had so many opportunities to play outside. This last couple of weeks we have even hit the 70's! It as been crazy, but we have LOVED being outdoors so much. Emily sometimes gets her shoes and brings them to me telling me she wants to go outside.

Here are a couple of our favorite outdoor activities:

Playing on the swings/going to the park- We have very old swing set in our backyard that was given to us,and our girls love swinging on the swings. I am very thankful we were given the swingset! We also love walking to the park. We are just a block away from one park and have 2 other parks that we can walk to as well that are a little farther, but close enough for walking. It has been fun to watch Emily starting to climb up the steps and go down the slides on her own (of course, I am by her side!).

Riding bikes (and the little car/tractor, etc)- Megan got a bike for her 3 year birthday, and she loves riding it and is starting to be able to go for farther distances. (She keeps asking to ride to Nana's house, but that is still a bit too far...okay maybe way too far!). She will ride around and around in circles on our driveway and not seem to get tired or bored of it. We also take her out on the roads where we are trying to drill into her head to stop at every corner and look for cars and such. I am glad we are live in a very small town where there is not a lot of traffic. She also enjoys being a paper girl and throwing papers up onto our porch. (This brings back memories to my childhood as I used to deliver papers.)

Emily enjoys getting in and out of the car and pushing it around. She hasn't really gotten the hang of using her feet to move it around, but she still likes playing with it and such! She also has enjoyed getting on the tractor although her legs are too short to scoot around in in.

Tim and I just bought some bikes this last weekend! We have never owned bikes since we have been married so this has been fun for our family to take bike rides together. We bought a seat for Emily to go on the back of Tim's bike. Megan loves having us ride along with her. Emily seems to enjoy riding on the back.

We better enjoy this nice weather before summer comes and becomes unbearably hot!
